The Debt, by D A Latham

Sally was drowning in debt, the type of debt with no way out. Her naivety and kind nature had led to her being taken advantage of at every turn.
The lawyer for the card company added to her debt before pursuing her. He had his own secrets and issues, but he made her heart race and her body respond. Should she choose him, or his bitter rival, a complex and fascinating man who’d take great delight in breaking up her burgeoning romance, convincing Sally he was the better man?
She had to learn the hard way that rich men are ruthless, play in their world at your own risk. Sometimes, when your back's against the wall, being a good girl is a luxury.
Which one is a Knight in shining armour and which one is the Devil incarnate?
This book contains language and scenes only suitable for over 18's

Well written and a different premise
By Sally Barton
I was given a free copy of this book and asked to write an honest review.
How refreshing to read a story of the hero and heroine that is not an overbearing alpha male and quivering submissive tale. This well written story sets the stage in a debtor's court. Our heroine, Sally, seems to be a Calamity Jane character and her hero, Andrew a secretive, kindly soul. It seems Sally can't get a break in her life. One gets a peek into the life of a woman living in poverty. Andrew helps her attempt to resolve her legal issues. Enter the villain, Aaron. Or is he? Sally's choices in her relationship leaves the reader wondering if she is really this desperate. Latham does a good job of keeping secrets about our heroes. At times I wanted to shake Sally because she was just too pitiful. A few surprises along the way added to the overall sweet tale of Sally and her Romeo. Thank you Ms. Latham for editing. I get so tired of books with spelling and grammatical errors. Your book passed the test.

Will Sally make it out of her dispair. A review by Maggie T. Katt
By Amazon Customer
Okay, I am writing this review for a second time. For some reason the first one didn't make it to the site.
Poor Sally was in a position a lot of people find themselves in when they are not accustom to having money enough to make from paycheck to paycheck. You really feel for her delimma of how to take care of herself while falling victim to a nasty boss and a debt that is mostly charges that she didn't accumulate justly. Enter her prince charming in the guise of , wait for it, an attorney in debt court. He is compassionate and feels terrible, probably for the first time, for this poor girl. The story unfolds in an unusual way and the plot thickens when a new job presents itself along with a handsome, charming and incredibly rich employer. But, as in life, all is not what it seems. One bad decision on top another put Sally in a really hard place, and she needs rescuing fast or she may not be a free person for much longer.

Will Sally ever have any luck?
By K. Johnson
Poor Sally! She had a rough upbringing being in an orphanage at age 8 after her parents died in a car wreck leaving her in the hospital for a month. I thought at first Andy wasn't going to be her knight in shining armour because of his stinginess with money and him being secretive with his personal life. Then there was Aaron with his competitiveness of wining her over and what came later. Oh wow was I surprised!
The british slang of words used in this story was a hoot! For example, Sally's bedsit would be studio apartment to Americans. So neat to learn knew words from a different country.
D A Latham did a phenomenal job in telling this story. Enjoyed it all the way through!
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
